Looks Like Ceiling Fan In Peripheral Vision

Like if someome lit somepaper on fire and it was bowing in the wind.

Looks like ceiling fan in peripheral vision.

I have 20 20 vision and can even see in the pitch black darkness. There are times when i see swirling lights like a brightly lit ceiling fan mostly in my peripheral vision. Starting 4 years ago when i took a very bad buck from a 3yo horse i was training i have experienced what seems like pinwheels ceiling fans kaleidoscope colors in my vision. I m not going insane i think out of the corner of my right eye i can see something that appears to be a spinning color blob my mind registers it as a ceiling fan but when i look at it it moves and there s no reflective surface that could reflect it.

The first time it happened i went to the er but they said i just had a headache i did have one the worst i had ever had they. Mainly artificial light would seem to shimmer a bit. I only had the wavy water like vision in part of my vision in my left eye it was as if the center of my vision was fine and that was circled by the wavy vision i could see color and light but it was like i was under water looking up and someone was making the water ripple but only an outer circle. Mostly when going to a dark room from light or vice versa.

It is something like viewing things through a rotating fan blade which would be revolving about 150 rpm. Does anyone else see flickering in their peripheral vision. What do you mean by ceiling fan effect. When i un focus my eyes when looking at lights i can see it as well.

Has never lasted more that 30 minutes to and hour and once gone. I also have static look on the periphery of my vision on the entire right half of my left eye toward my nose. This seems silly to bring up but otoh who knows maybe others have experienced this. When my eyes are in this condition it is very difficult to read because i must slow my rate of comprehension while my brain makes out words behind the flashings.

I have noticed that about one or two times per week during the last 4 5 months that early in the mornings i get a mild flickering of my vision. It was wierd then faded. I had laser for a retinal hole almost 3 weeks ago and i have a black blind spot 4 black dots but i don t see them all of the time. Sometimes its peripheral sometimes the effect is in a shape like a circle directly in my line of sight.

Then when i look in the way of the shimmering it usually stops. Sometimes it s just a blotch. I had an occurence a few years back when it seemed i was being swarmed by a bunch of black ash.
